WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • You will keep production flowing smoothly with the needed materials.
  • You will monitor and optimize material inventory levels as strategic design of the supply chain.
  • You will create, maintain, and release requirements and supplies using customer demands and trends ensuring an adequate level of products and manufacturing materials are maintained.
  • You will manage relationships with suppliers and assure Automotive Standard Services are maintained.
  • You will participate in engineering change teams.
  • You will monitor and assure continued improvement processes in services and deliveries.
  • You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and expediting material from vendors.
  • You will follow up on materials in transit assuring they meet compliance and defined transit times.
  • You will update the ERP system as required (New Material, eng. level, releases, standard pack quantity, etc.)
  • You will perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in material planning.
  • You have worked in the Automotive industry for at least 3 years.
  • You understand and apply statistics analysis.
  • You are experienced in problem solving techniques (8D, 7 steps, 5 whys, etc.).
  • You have Material Requirements Planning (MRP) knowledge and experience (SAP, LN, MFG QAD, etc.).
  • You understand Just in Time (JIT) manufacturing environment.
  • You understand Kanban techniques.
  • You understand trade and compliance process for international logistics.
  • You have APICS certification or training.
  • You are an analytical thinker.
  • You have a sense of urgency.
  • You have excellent planning skills, process thinking, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • You also meet the standard blah-blah: your English skills are very good and you are potentially fluent in an additional language (German is a plus!); you work well in a team but also on your own; you know your way around MS Office; you are communicative; you have a high level of presentation skills and are highly flexible.
  • You are willing to travel.
  • You are authorized to work in the U.S.
